nerd alert

I haven't been reading quite as many books as usual, but these are a few that I've definitely enjoyed:

My librarian friend recommended this novel to my book club buddy and I....and we both finished it quickly [she usually beats me!]. This book kind of reminded me of a John Green novel. It was definitely touching...

I liked Divergent best. This trilogy isn't quite as gripping as some others I've read. I got through Insurgent okay, but Allegiant...I took my sweet, sweet time.
Description here.

I finished this novel before my book club buddy. :) I was hooked from the start because the main character is a dog lover! I didn't realize it's by the same lady that wrote Bones until I was curious as to why this girl was her "niece" - ha! Just a lil' slow. Description here. I will definitely be checking out Seizure.

I've got Prodigy [sequel to Legend] sitting on my nightstand so I might read that next. The author went to my high school! She was a grade below me. Interesting. :)

Are you reading anything good?

  1. I've heard Eleanor and Park is really good. I'm finishing Gone Girl right now and then I'm going to read The Invention of Wings, since we got to meet Sue Monk Kidd. :) She read parts of it to us, and I wish she could read the rest to me. Haha!

  2. I am currently reading The Maze Runner series by James Dashner. However, I took a break after book two to read Damned by Chuck Palahniuk.

  3. I loved Eleanor & Park... I've also read a few other Rainbow Rowell books and they are all great. My fave was probably Attachments. Definitely recommend it.

Also, Allegiant killed me... and I was so pumped for the Divergent movie before I read it. Now I'm kinda like, what's the point.

  4. I recently finished "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" by Jenny Lawson (aka the Bloggess) and it was hilarious. Though some parts made me cry for other reasons, most of it made me laugh so hard I cried. Now to finish Game of Thrones which I also started last year. I miss having an abundance of time to read... :(
