 There's been a lot of sickness going around! Allergies and whatnot. I woke up with a sore throat a few times, but have been able to fight it off somehow.

Buster has some advice for you. :)

What I Wore...twice.

Later that night I changed into some comfy shorts and Shoemint wedges.

The school year is in full swing. Things are getting pretty stressful and time consuming...but by maintaining my extra-curriculars, I am staying sane. Meetings, paperwork, meetings, paperwork, blah blah blah.

For the time being I've got one less roller derby practice each week. I am using those free hours [about 4 total: 1h commute, 2h practice, 1h commute] to train via Crossfit and spend some time with my family and Daniel.

Pictured above are my current favorite earrings. :) I purchased them from The Impeccable Pig at the Houston Blogger Symposium. So beautiful! I recently visited their store in Rice Village and will be returning soon.

Rookie Season Like a Boss

My first season as a member of Houston Roller Derby is officially over.

Things went pretty well this year. Two amazing teams and lots [and lots] of learning along the way.

My home team, the Bayou City Bosses, finally pulled it together for a couple sweet wins. As time passed I felt like a member of a new family [cheese!].
And being a member of the Knockouts [our B travel team] was an exhilarating experience as well. :)

Physically, I have upped my endurance and balance. I barely played at the start of the season, then one team decided that a jammer I should be, and put me in that spotlight. I am so grateful for that opportunity to prove myself It went a long way. I became more confident and put so much more effort into my game.

I won't bother you with the mental changes I have experienced, but it's been a pretty amazing journey.

A big thank you to my league mates for giving me a spot in which I grew as an athlete, as well as a person.

Someone Else's Wedding

I wanted to title this post something wedding related, but since too many folks tend to inquire about any foreseeable wedding bells in my future, I wanted to be clear. :)

This past weekend a very dear friend of mine tied the knot. Everything was beautiful. I took a million and one photos. Here are the highlights.

 

Something that was really cool? The engagement photos I took of the happy couple were plastered all over the place. <3 br="br" nbsp="nbsp">

 That cake *totally* tasted like coffee! It's pretty much how Zach and I bonded back in college. He's obsessed. And I was a supplier.

Insta-Week

Usually I'd share what I did last weekend as well as this week, but I already did that! Here and here. :)

 In which I confess my addiction to Stitchfix...
 And Langford Market...

Rainy Monday. And I broke in my new earrings from The Impeccable Pig. So fancy lookin'!

 I decided to keep my Crossfit membership. I really enjoy the workouts. They are relatively quick and extremely effective. My arms still hurt! The Bosses won their bout last Saturday, too. It was pretty rad. <3 p="p">

Open House was this week! So I popped into Daniel's classroom. He looked so fine. ;-)

Open house days are especially long because getting home between work and the event can be pretty difficult. So I gave the pups some extra time in the sun during lunch.

Speaking of extra time in the sun. I've been off campus the past couple days at a training session [during our breaks I step outside to warm up in the sun...]. There was a pretty sweet map of Texas hanging near the entrance. That plus a sweet photo editing app led to this piece of "iphone art."

I call it, "Texas, the world."

Why are we so proud? haha
