mathy

Math has always been my favorite subject. Towards the end of high school I had a friend tutor me because I struggled with Pre-Cal, but later enjoyed the courses I took in college...including Trig.
I enjoy reading, but as a chronic multi-tasker, math homework was easily completed with the television on. :) And because writing was [ironically] never my forte, I clung to numbers. The step by step process was...calming in a way. I liked seeing my work travel down the page and to one answer.
Funny little fact...In 8th grade, my teachers wanted to move me to the advanced Algebra class, but I decided against it because of a stupid crush. UGH, right?? :)

  1. Aw! The things we do for love lol. I got moved down a set because it was too hard then when I reached my new set it was way too easy - maths was only not my favourite because of my teachers - I think if you'd been my teacher I'd have rocked that maths exam lol.

  2. Oh, gosh...I wish you lived closer. My son has had the hardest time with the TAKS this year (3rd time is a charm, right?) and I stink at math! I think his problem is mainly test anxiety because he passed the class, but, gah...stressful!

  3. I have never understood math. I get so frustrated when math-oriented people tell me, "It's just because you never had a good teacher!" OK, maybe, but isn't it just possible that I'm not good at it? Plenty of people are bad at plenty of things. I have my skills & talents - math is not one of them.

  6. I used to love maths in high school, which I'm sure was slightly helped by the fact that I got on great with all my maths teachers... As soon as I hit uni though it's just been a downwards spiral of doom. I miss the days when it all came so easily to me. Again I blame the lack of awesome teachers.

(Ooh and hello from a new blogger/long time follower :) )
